The following anonymous tip was recently submitted via our anonymous Tip-Off page and refers to the occurrence of service providers (such as home help service providers) being used and/or encouraged to basically spy on injured workers.
Using service providers to violate injured workers privacy
The agent [workcover insurer] may in desperation resort to using service providers to violate your privacy by encouraging them to approach neighbours under the guise of offering their services and gain their confidence through casual conversation.
Then asking them [i.e. neighbours] to report of anything which they hope may prove useful against the claimant [injured workers] in return for a financial reward; thus grossly violating the privacy of the vulnerable injured worker under their signed Application for Registration to Provide Services to Workers – Confidentiality and Privacy – 6. The Provider and its staff must respect the confidentiality of workers at all times.
Note: we (aworkcovervictimsdiary) are also aware of explicit cases whereby a ‘service provider’ such as home help/personal carer/gardener etc. essentially recorded all ‘activities’ the injured worker is/was ‘undertaking’ while they are providing their service(s) to those injured workers.
Recorded activities may range from ‘the worker is typing on their computer all morning/afternoon’….’the injured worker carried heavy garbage bins out’…. ‘the injured worker plays with their dog’… ‘the injured worker drives a car…’… ‘I noticed the worker change a tyre’…etc. Be very careful about talking to your service providers, or worse, ‘confiding’ in them, never share any private information and always abide by your medical restrictions at all times.

The name of the game is COVER-UP.
Lie, lie, lie, deny, deny, deny…stall, stall, stall… starve, starve, starve
Workcover ? Work-over more like it!
Lied to and stood over by workcover and their insurance agents bureaucrats? Bounced around the workcover system? Exhausted trying to get answers? Lumbered with a false entry (entries) in your medical records or reports? Ripped off with dud medical reports from so-called “experts” (IMEs)? Contacted your Member of Parliament who acted like a postman and just passed your letter along to someone else when it all got too tricky?
It’s the 3-D experience! DISHONESTY↔DECEIT↔DUDDED.
