We don’t hear or see it often, but it surely happens more than you think – here is another , well hidden case of a recent workcover case manager, who worked for QBE in NSW, who was jailed for processing fraudulent claims in the sum of $164,466.07. Shame on you!

Lauren O’Flynn:the fraudulent workcover case manager (QBE)
From November 2009 to February 2010, the defendant Lauren O’Flynn, a case manager employed by QBE, accessed QBE’s computerised claims management system on 48 separate occasions and processed fraudulent claims in the sum of $164,466.07.
After a WorkCover investigation the defendant was charged with breaches of section 178BA of the Crimes Act (NSW).
On 19 July 2012 the defendant was convicted by the Local Court and sentenced to imprisonment for 3 years. The defendant appealed to the District Court.
On 29 November 2012 the District Court re-sentenced the defendant to full time imprisonment for 2 years and 6 months, with a non-parole period of 15 months. The Court ordered the defendant to pay $164,466.07 in restitution.
