Workcover forum

Well… we have been busy behind the scenes and have not only run a long overdue, scheduled maintenance on our site, redesigned the site, upgraded our hosting service, but we have also installed a powerful, stand-alone new workcover forum. We hope you’ll love it as much as we do!

Workcover forum

visit the forum!

At last, a decent place where injured workers (and their families and friends) can interact, seek advice, find and give support and so much more!

As previously mentioned the mission of our Workcover Forum is, to “KEEP IT SIMPLE” . However, our previously embedded “Mingle” forum, although pretty nifty, was rather small and we noticed that it caused quite a bit of trouble with our database connections. The blog started to load really slow, especially when there were more than 10 people on-line.

This time we’ve chosen a stand-alone, robust forum platform (Simple Machines Forum) which is not too super buggy or so bloated with features and settings that it’s a nightmare setting them up and especially using it. Go check it out! And yes, this time it is installed under www.aworkcovervictimsdiary.com/forum!

How the Workcover Forum works

You will need to sign up/register in order to post messages. Whilst we allow “guests” to view our blog content, the content is limited and attachments, for example, cannot be viewed (for enhanced security). The forum can also be configured in different levels of “access”, but at this stage we just have the “guests” (non-registered, not able to post, restricted content) and the registered users.

Unfortunately for those 16 injured people who signed up for our previous Forum, you will have to repeat the process.

Please join the new forum and we look forward to your contributions!

About WorkcoverVictim

I was assaulted by a large patient whilst working as a nurse . I underwent numerous major shoulder reconstructions and suffered near fatal complications. I am left with an extremely painful and irreparable dominant arm. This site was born out of my sheer frustration, anger and grief regarding the workcover system where all is not made clear, where the waters are very murky, and when the chips are down, the very people who are responsible for duty of care and support simply choose to ignore you, the injured worker. I dedicate this site to all injured workers who have been abused by the adversarial workcover compensation system. May they never give up, may they fight like warriors for their legitimate rights, and -most importantly- may they hold onto their dignity, self-respect, self-esteem and sanity; and may they WIN!

      Thank you!

I have also just noticed that the smilies are gone from the comments form… there were there a few hours ago, WTF? Maybe an plugin update is due?

      I’ll try a manual one here :)

Update: had a check – wordpress has been updated and the smilies are not compatible. I will search for a new ‘plugin’. But you can still manually insert smilies ;)     :)
