Hiya everybody, just letting you know that I am getting ready for my 7th (or is it 8th – I’ve lost track!) shoulder/arm surgery of tomorrow morning. Venus is aligned with Mars indeed and I was finally granted approval from workcover after a long and convoluted 2 month delay. Given that I am feeling pretty nervous I am not really in the mood to post any further articles and as such I will leave you with a few links of recent workcover stories in the media…
I don’t know when I will be returning home, I guess it will depend on what they find during surgery.
The good news, however, is that the Private Hospital’s glossy brochure tells me that there is internet available in every patient room – wow! This means that, in the event that I have to stay a bit longer in hospital, I will be able to continue writing blogs from the very comfort of my hospital bed!
I would hope that I would be in a ‘reasonable’ state to update you on my progress around Monday 5 December…
I hope you will miss me as much as I will miss you

About WorkcoverVictim
I was assaulted by a large patient whilst working as a nurse . I underwent numerous major shoulder reconstructions and suffered near fatal complications. I am left with an extremely painful and irreparable dominant arm.
This site was born out of my sheer frustration, anger and grief regarding the workcover system where all is not made clear, where the waters are very murky, and when the chips are down, the very people who are responsible for duty of care and support simply choose to ignore you, the injured worker.
I dedicate this site to all injured workers who have been abused by the adversarial workcover compensation system. May they never give up, may they fight like warriors for their legitimate rights, and -most importantly- may they hold onto their dignity, self-respect, self-esteem and sanity; and may they WIN!
Hi WorkCover Victim
I just wanted to wish you all the best for your surgery of tomorrow… You are in my thoughts and prayers. I will miss your blogs, hell I am hooked to this site! Keep strong and I hope to see you back online very soon.
J.
Good Luck Mate!
Hope all goes well for your surgery and it helps you to be able to move forward or at least close this chapter.
Get in there and knock em dead!
Break a leg!
Mmmm maybe not appropriate
Best of health!!
Thanks “Corruption & Greed” & ” I will miss you” for the well-wishes, much appreciated.
When is your surgery Corruption & Greed? Date yet? Or still waiting for the nurses’ industrial action to cease? You must be at the end of your tether?!
Guess what, today I finally received my long-handled toilet brush (WTF) after a wait of nearly 6 months (half a bloody year) and a complaint to WorkSafe, and there are still “home help appliances” outstanding! Isn’t it totally ridiculous and most inappropriate from Xchanging to make one wait half a year for requested (and approved) home help “appliances”? Shows you…. how much they care about our well-being and “rehab”. F*cking pricks.
Anyhow, thanks again and catch you soon
I also wish you the best of luck with your surgery.
Watch out for your case manager, she may be lurking in the shadows just waiting for you to fall asleep.
I may have found a picture of her here http://www.spaciousplanet.com/world/photo/13333/undead-nurse.html

Good Luck Champ!
How you going Lisa? Haven’t seen you update. Hope you are okay.
Hi Shelley, just posted an update, all bad news I am afraid. I am trying to make sense of it all and keep on breathing too, for my ticker is still failing. It will take weeks to months for my heart to return to normal I am told… How are you?
